Two Birds One Stone Launches 'Premium Denim with a Soul'

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) June 22, 2008 -- Denim designer Clark Williams has made a career out of launching new brands and products into the marketplace. This time is different. He has spent the last year developing the right fabrics, fits and finishes for a new Premium Denim brand that has a very special purpose. "

A few years ago, one of my brothers left his position as a craneo facial plastic surgeon at a major hospital to devote the rest of his life to making a real difference in the world. He performs free corrective surgeries on children that are born with facial defects, or are victims of deforming accidents. Dr. Geoff Williams has devoted his life savings to this cause, and has been overwhelmed with the need for his services in the 3 years he has been involved with this full-time undertaking. His missions have covered 10 countries and benefited the lives of thousands of families in the developing world. " He was here in the USA for a grand total of 26 days last year" Clark says. "I don't know how he does it."

Clark was so impressed with his brother's selflessness, that he began thinking of ways to be involved. The answer was obvious. The chance to combine his talent and passion for denim product design, with something truly meaningful was irresistible. In the spring of 2007 Clark came up with the name that was synonymous with what the brand would stand for; Two Birds One Stone. "There are many ways the name is relevant." says Williams. "There is an opportunity for the consumer to enjoy a great pair of premium denim jeans, while making a substantial donation to this worthy cause with their purchase. There is my opportunity to do what I love, and provide a significant benefit in the process, and the opportunity exists for the retailers to carry a brand in their stores that has a real story to tell to their customers."

What makes this Brand stand out, is the fact that it is not just a company that happens to donate to charity, It is a Brand that exists specifically for charity. 40% of the wholesale profit goes directly to the International Children's Surgical Foundation. "There are many worthy charities out there that are in need of funds to do good in the world." Williams says, "but this is one that I have first-hand knowledge of, and I am impressed with what my brother has given up to do what he is doing. He takes no salary from the foundation, so virtually all of the funds donated go directly to providing for the children. "That's something that I want to be involved with." Clark says.

There are two specific fits for women, and one universal fit for men. "In the future, I will begin adding fits to the offering, but I wanted to keep it simple the first time around" says Williams. For women, there is a "curvy" fit that narrows at the knee, and flares to the hem. A contour waistband, and mid-low rise combine to make this a figure flattering silhouette with a focus on comfort and wear ability. The other fit is a straight leg silhouette, that has only a slight flare at the hem. The slimmer lines make this fit a very contemporary look, with all of the comfort of the curvy fit. For men, the look is slim, but not skinny. The rise is a mid-low that sits on the hips, while still allowing room to bend over with comfort. It is a very contemporary look with mass appeal.

Fabrics are selected for their surface interest, and wear-ability. "Finish treatments bring out the real beauty of a great piece of cloth" Williams says. All of the denim fabrics selected are from the finest mills in the world. "Ring spun, multi-dip denim is essential to making a great pair of premium denim jeans." Men's qualities are rigid, while the women's qualities have 2% stretch. Finish treatments are painstakingly done by hand to duplicate natural wear patterns. "I have never subscribed to overtly contrived treatments." Williams professes. "I prefer finishes that have the look and feel of a great vintage jean, that has had a life of it's own, real and natural." The design emphasis is placed on stitch detail. Multiple stitch colors, and sizes, with "hand-stitched" effects and embroideries will highlight each style. The idea is to make each pair of jeans special. Retail price range: $179.00 to $200.00.

Clark has been designing denim for 28 years, and has had the good fortune of a successful career doing something he is passionate about. This time around however, he is involved with something a little more meaningful. "I am really thankful for this opportunity to do something that can help make a real difference in peoples lives." Williams says. Product will debut in better specialty stores and boutiques in September.
