Grumpy Girl Flips the Bird
HONOLULU, HI (PRWEB) September 21, 2006 -- It happens to even the best and the brightest. It’s Monday morning. A sharply-dressed businesswoman leaves her car unattended for just 5 minutes to buy a cup of coffee only to find, upon her return, that her vehicle has been unscrupulously hit. And the damage is most visible. It’s not a ding or a scratch but something almost more sinister: the unmistakable mark of a loose-boweled bird, smack dab in the middle of her freshly washed and waxed hood.
Now there is a product that helps relieve some of the anxiety and shame caused by the unsightly, clear-coat-eating waste: The Grumpy Girl Auto Bird Turd Emergency Kit.
The kit contains everything needed to do a quick and proper cleanup in a timely manner. One spray bottle with water and one with windshield cleaner help loosen the ‘present.’ Shop towels wipe up the mess, and Ziploc bags hold the soiled towels until they can be thrown away. Cleaner wax is then applied with a mini microfiber sponge and buffed away with the coordinating microfiber towel. Finally, the antibacterial wipes restore hands to feeling nice and fresh.
With all the items fitting neatly into a handy 9.5” x 8” x 2” red plastic case, the kit can be easily and inconspicuously stored in the trunk of the car or even under the passenger’s seat. At a ‘gift-friendly’ retail price of $28.95, the kit is a fun and unique alternative to the run of the mill gifts of stationery, soaps and lotions, wine, and picture frames that always seem to make their way into the annual holiday gift giving. Moreover, there’s comfort in knowing that it’s something no one has but everyone can use.
But what about those people who just don’t deal with crap? Allison Takeshita, the owner of Grumpy Girl Clothing and designer of the kit advises not to write off her product so soon.
“The great thing about this kit is that it contains items that can also be used for other purposes,” says Takeshita. “I mean, just think of how many times we’ve spilled something on the console and didn’t have any napkins in the glovebox. A few spritzes from the water bottle and a shop towel can clean that up right away.” As another example, the washable microfiber towel could be used to wipe dust off the dashboard. The hand sanitizing wipes are always useful, and the ever-versatile Ziploc sandwich bags could be used for anything from packing a leftover breakfast muffin to temporarily storing those germy used tissues until a garbage can is in sight.
With everything in the kit designed to be easily replaceable with a trip to the local drugstore, kit owners can keep it fully stocked even after they’ve used the initial provisions. Of course, that might cause some to think, “Why don’t I just make my own kit?” Takeshita counters the doubters by saying, “I think you might be surprised if you actually added up the costs and effort of producing a similar kit on your own. I believe our kit is reasonably priced.”
“Besides,” she adds, “I challenge you to make one this cute.”
